About the volunteering opportunity
The children's forest is located in the north-west of Hanover at Mecklenheider Forst. There, children can run around to their heart's content, wade through the water and get really dirty. As master builders, they can create willow villages, forest sofas and bridges, plant trees and shrubs and design signposts.
We are looking for volunteers to help maintain the grounds so that the children feel comfortable on the grounds and can build a closer bond with nature.

Your Tasks
There are always various tasks on our grounds, which are discussed with the team on site and depend on the current needs of the Kinderwald and the skills of the volunteers:
- Willow maintenance
- Removal of so-called invasive neophytes
- Maintenance of the orchard meadow
- Construction of a wooden staircase
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
A good physical constitution, manual skills and enjoyment of outdoor work are an advantage.
What to bring
Please wear weather-appropriate clothing that can get dirty, as well as long pants and sturdy shoes. Also remember to bring rain and sun protection. The material is available on site.

The Kinderwald Hannover is a 7-hectare site in Hanover, which was and is developed according to the ideas of children and young people.
For schools and daycare centers as well as families and during the vacations, there are a variety of offers on the theme of experiencing nature with all the senses. In addition, groups come to the Children's Forest to help with the care and maintenance of the grounds.
