About the volunteering opportunity

The orchard and orchid meadows are mowed at different times using small, light equipment. This creates a richly structured vegetation that promotes biodiversity.
The cuttings must then be removed from the areas so that the plants underneath do not suffocate or die. We are very grateful for every helping hand.
In the long term, this will make the meadows more species-rich and provide a valuable source of food for numerous insects over a longer period of time.

Your Tasks

One of the main tasks is to carefully rake the cuttings from the mown areas and move them to the edges. This prevents plants from suffocating under the cuttings and at the same time leaves the area open enough for diverse vegetation to develop. This work is an important part of maintenance in order to maintain and improve the ecological quality of the meadows in the long term.
