About the volunteering opportunity
Preliminary information: This engagement was booked exclusively by a Volkswagen team with the Volkswagen team events fund "Gemeinsam Engagiert" as part of the Role Model Program. It is therefore protected by an access code. If you are also interested in a team event, you can find all the information here.
This year, we have been given an additional larger area to the existing garden, in which large areas of blackberries have already been removed. Some of the pruning still needs to be taken away in a container. Now we need many hands to help us remove the small, newly growing plants.
Berry bushes have already been planted on part of the area and willow structures have been created with children, young people and adults. They are very welcome to water them. We would also like to plant more lavender at the beginning of June.

Your Tasks
Assist with several tasks throughout the day!
- On the new site: Remove newly growing blackberries, load blackberry prunings from the site into a container,
- Planting and watering lavender
- Also happy to do maintenance work on the herb spiral
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
It's an advantage if you enjoy gardening!

Please wear clothes that are suitable for the weather and can get dirty, and bring your own work gloves

JANUN's Adventure Nature Garden is an inclusive community garden in which various groups have been actively working for thirteen years. The site is currently being expanded by an area of around 500 square meters. The work in the garden is normally carried out by active members and volunteers in the garden network. We are always happy to receive further support for larger construction sites

JANUN is an association in which young people and young adults are actively involved in social, ecological and societal issues. In various working groups and projects, they deal with topics such as environmental education, climate change, consumption, inclusion, waste avoidance and upcycling and organize workshops, campaigns, seminars and international youth exchanges. JANUN also runs numerous educational programs at schools, runs nature education projects for children and is involved in child and youth participation and open youth work.
